The Danube is set in Budapest, Hungary,
1938. It is not a play about Budapest, Hungary,
1938. It is about the absurdity of language in the
face of catastrophe. It is about denial, habit
and change. Using everything from garden hoses,
a dance number and teensy-tiensy soup bowls,
the theatre students of the University of
Houston tell a story of love and war, with
really creeeepy voiceovers.
